We celebrated Boxing Day 2023 with our traditional visit to The Griffin Inn, Swithland LE12 8TJ. Collecting for Rainbows Hospice we raised a speldid £419 – a big thanks to our audience and to the management and staff of The Griffinn Inn: Stuart Broad and Harry Gurney and the Cat & Whiskers pub group.
We hope to collect even more this year! We start at 12 noon with dances from our Border dance repertoire and will perform for about 90 minutes, with the odd beer break, in out winter guise as Red Leicester.
At some point we will performed the Sproxton Wooing Play. This was collected by members of Leicester Morrismen ( as we were then) in the 1950s from a couple of old chaps in Sproxton who remembered performing the play as young lads.
