On 26th December we return to our traditional Boxing day venue The Griffin Inn, Swithland LE12 8TJ, with thanks to our hosts Stuart Broad and Harry Gurney and their Cat & Wickets Pub Company.
For an hour and a half or so, with the odd beer break, in out winter guise as Red Leicester we will be dancing our entire repertoire of Border Morris dances and at some point include a performance of the Sproxton Wooing Play*.
Throughout our performance we will encourage our audience to contribute to our collection for Rainbows Childrens’ Hospice. Thanks to our audiences’ generosity in 2022 we collected 296.50 and last year £419. With your help we hope to at least match that this year!
*The Sproxton Wooing Play was collected by members of Leicester Morrismen ( as we were then) in the 1950s from a couple of old chaps in Sproxton, who remembered performing the play as young lads.
